I am not sure where this year has gone as we speed towards the festive season, it's time to prepare for this busy time of year. It's such a magical time for children, with parties & family gatherings and is my favourite time of year. My little girl will have a Nursery Christmas party with her friends, and this little band will be perfect to add that bit of festive sparkle. I love Christmas crafts especially and this project is quick & easy without spending a lot. So let's get started.
The materials you will need for this project include -Felt, Fine Glitter Felt & a Snowflake embellishment & Headbands. I shop for supplies online and the headbands were a set from Primark. The great thing is you can mix the colours to create your own combinations, in the tutorial here and video I have mixed up the colours to show the different combinations you can try. The tools needed are scissors, a glue gun and paper to print the pattern, and the pattern which can be downloaded here. Watch the video here or use the step by step instructions below.
The first thing to do is to cut out the felt pieces each band will have 2 large petals, 2 medium petals, 1 small petal & 1 Back rectangle. In this example I have used only 1 large & 1 medium white glitter felt, 1 Medium & 1 small Pink Glitter felt & 1 large pink wool felt.
Once all the pieces are cut out, I like to lay them out in the order and position them the way they will be glued. The top petal should be placed opposite the petal shape below and repeat this to create a staggered effect. Once I am happy I then lay them out in the order they will be glued.
On the Back of the completed flower place the felt rectangle and glue to the band & the flower to secure in place. Press down to create a firm bond. Your band is now complete and ready to be worn, I hope you have enjoyed this project, we have more free tutorials & patterns in the links at the side.
