These Christmas puddings are simple to make, with a few steps you can make these lovely decorations for your tree. I made these a while back with a pattern I found online - but have created my own pattern so it may differ from the picture slightly but the size is the same you will get a 7cm decoration when finished. If you want to make your own pattern it's easy to create one on paint/paint 3d just choose your circle size, copy & paste the circle to create the icing shape you like then use the curve tools to create the holly for the top. Stitch guides are available in the tabs above too for beginners.
Materials needed include Felt & Thread in Brown/Red, White Felt & Green (Gold Thread for Red version) - one large Red button, Bakers string & toy stuffing.
Tools needed are scissors, needle, paper, pins & craft stick for stuffing
Print of your pattern first DOWNLOAD PATTERN here, then cut out the felt pieces in quantities stated. Then start by pinning the icing to the puddings.
Next step is to Stitch along the edge of the icing, here I like to use a back stitch - check out the stitch guides if you have not used this stitch before in the tabs at the top of this page.
Stitch on the sequins I have chosen to stitch 3 on, I have used 4 stitches then secured at the back. The red version I used a gold embroidery thread, although it was bit tricky to use it looks nice with the sequins.
Cut a length of Bakers string then create a loop & tie a knot, then stitch to the inside of the Back pudding. Blanket Stitch the front & back puddings together along the bottom edge with brown thread
Blanket Stitch around the top edge in White, leaving a gap to fill the Icing with stuffing. This design is only stuffed in the pouch for the icing at the top - but can be filled fully for a puffy pudding design. Next Stitch on the holly leaves with a few small stitches to secure. To finish stitch on the large button over the holly leaves.
